Since 2014 we have been accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI), an international body that evaluates the quality and safety of the health services provided by hospitals. In 2016, only 662 hospitals in the world held this accreditation.

We have created two scientific journals: Médica Sur Research from 1996 to 2016; and Annals of Hepatology from 2002 to date.

Accreditations and Certifications

• Since 2000, the Médica Sur Laboratory has been accredited by the College of American Pathologists.

On November 9, 2001, we obtained the ISO 900:2000 certification, which make us first laboratory in Mexico to obtain both the CAP accreditation and the ISO 9001: 2000 certification.

The ISO 9001: 2000 standard promotes the adoption of a process-based approach when developing, implementing and improving the effectiveness of a quality management system, to increase customer satisfaction by meeting the criteria.

It should be noted that this certification was achieved together with the TÜV Rheinland de México S.A. de C.V. body in 2001, and it was further renewed in 2004.
